Rated 4 out of 5 by crenkz fromExceeded expectationsI bought this for use on my 10.5" SBR and to use for a 4-day defensive rifle course about a month ago. I looked at almost every 1-4x scope on the market and created a spreadsheet for comparison. I previously tried the Vortex Viper PST but I could not get used to the reticle being so small and thin and it wasn't worth the price paid. The MTAC 1-4x24 exceeded my expectations in quality, clear glass, ruggedness, and value. I used it right out of the box in the 4-day rifle course and quickly became effective with it and passed the skills test. It survived a flight from Austin to Las Vegas in a Plano 36" All Weather Tactical case. One eye open at 1x is very easy due to the generous eye box. The CQ reticle just works for me. This scope is best for fast defensive shooting out to 200 yards. I would probably choose another scope for longer range precision bench shooting. It is a little longer and heavier than I would like so I used the Aero Precision Ultra Light mount to save weight. To me it is a very aesthetic industrial design. I'm very pleased with this scope and will probably get the 1.5-6x42 for my 6.8 SPC.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tpelham fromGreat scope, but Fast Fire has problems. The 1-4x MTAC scope is amazing. Leaps and bounds better clarity than comparable nikon scopes, but the FastFire III has some issues. After purchasing first one I noticed a starburst rather than a 3 moa dot. I sent it in a promptly received a replacement through the Burris warranty program. The only problem is that the replacement has an even larger diagonal starburst. I have been hesitant to even try and get the replacement replaced. I never even mounted it.Rated 4 out of 5 by JC170412 fromRocky start but happy nowFirst of all I have no prior experience with rifle optics. I bought the MTAC with FF3 combo. MTAC was fine but the FF3 did not work. Returned units. Because of reviews, price point etc, took a chance on another combo. This time everything works fine. Seems very nice to me, but what do I know. First scope. Return was painless and DOAs do happen. In the end happy with my purchase.Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimbo 78 fromQuality OpticExcellent CQB optic with very clear glass and highly functional reticle. Both eye open shooting on 1X power. Nice package with fastfire and QD mount. Added after market lens covers to complete. I am very happy with this purchase after one year of ownership and countless rounds downrange. Has held up as well as expected and demanded from a Burris product.Rated 5 out of 5 by md250r fromGreat Optic for MoneyOptic is clear and the adjustable brightness of the reticle allows you to adjust for differing light conditions. On 1x you essentially have a red dot sight that is quick to find its target. I have been shooting this optic with the PEPR mount for nearly a year and zero hasn't moved.Rated 3 out of 5 by pajlofy fromElectronics FailedI received this MTAC through Amazon and it was shipped with other heavier items. When I received it and checked it out, the illuminated reticle flickered in settings 1 to 3. Otherwise the scope was as advertised. Sent it back for another. Fingers crossed!Rated 5 out of 5 by ynot16602 fromVery clear optics, quick sight acquisitionThis is a very good combat sight for a tactical rifle. Very clear and bright. very easy to bring to target. Keep in mind that this is a battle sight, it has a large reticle, so if your intending it for target shooting it's probably not the best choice.Rated 5 out of 5 by BroMar fromGreat tacticle scopeJust shot it yesterday and was very happy. Very clear and bright. Easy to zero. It is not a precision reticle, and not intended to be. I personally like the reticle. Got it with the Burris PEPR quick disconnect mount. Great set up!Rated 5 out of 5 by Jglad fromGreat buy!I have been using this for 6 months & have never been so accurate. I can't seem to get the fastfire red dot low enough for close quarters, but once I figured out how much to compensate, I had no problems.Rated 5 out of 5 by zapata510 fromClear Optics, Exceptional quality.I bought this optic a couple of months ago. My co-workers were amazed of the price to quality compared to optics that are more expensive. I highly recommend this optic combo for any AR-15 set-up.Rated 5 out of 5 by PapaHal fromtop-end quality at a fair priceOptics are clear and clean. Paralax is at a minimum for not beimg adjustable for close range. At 4 power 150 yd. Shots are clear. Lighted reticl could be more defined but very usable.Rated 5 out of 5 by xman fromGreat all around scope for AR15Excellent value and I would put it up against similar scopes at double the price. Great in close quarters, can use with both eyes open and great clarity looking out 100+yrsRated 5 out of 5 by Oldg fromExcellent combinationThe perfect combination of sighting systems and mount for everything from 3 feet to 300 yards. Lets you concentrate on hitting your target instead of adjusting optics.Rated 5 out of 5 by 2lazy2 fromGood compromise between a red dot and a scope!I was looking for a scope for a "field" rifle-not a varmint rig...this scope is a good compromise between a red dot and a medium range scope...CQB to 300-400yards.Rated 5 out of 5 by Buckmark from3 Gun ScopeI bough this scope to start shooting 3 gun. I'm not sure you can do better for under $500. Excellent scope for the money.Rated 5 out of 5 by selit281 fromExcellent scope, excellent valueI purchased this scope after spending a lot of time comparing it to other 1x4 or 1.5x4 scopes. For whatever reason, the reticle just fit my eye and the price was very competitive. I also preferred a dial rather than a button to turn the illumination on/off. The scope is mounted in a PEPR QD mount on a pretty much stock AR-style rifle. After several hundred rounds both the scope and mount seem very durable. I wanted the 1x for both eyes open shooting out to about 50 yards. This scope is perfect for this. At first I could not shoot with both eyes open beyond 2x. With some practice this has changed, I can now shoot both eyes open easily at 1-3x. 4x is possible but I can only do this for a short time before the reticle starts to become fuzzy. Since I don't have great vision I imagine that someone with better eyes would have an easier time of it. Still, I can put the scope on 4x, shoot both eyes open, and get decent hits to about 150 yards. This isn't too bad for a casual shooter using whatever ammo happens to be on sale. If you are looking for a scope to shoot small groups at 200 yards from a bench, I don't think this is it. However, if you are looking for a scope that will get you offhand hits from a few yards out to whatever your skill level allows, I think this is a fantastic scope. I know this sounds like a marketing line but it's true: I liked this scope enough that I bought a second one along with a second PEPR mount.
